Milo’s Puppy Boot Camp is a training program and philosophy created in 2014 for puppies, adolescent and young adult dogs. While there have been many who have copied us, we are the original. With one of our Board and Train programs, puppies typically come to training directly from breeders, prior to them heading home to their forever families. However, we also train puppies and dogs that are already home with their families. Our experienced trainers teach puppies the basics, setting the foundation for a happy and healthy relationship with their forever families. The puppies will stay with their trainer in their home anywhere from 2 to 12 weeks, depending on the level of training their owners are seeking. We believe in reward based, positive training only.

Milo’s Puppy Boot Camp’s trainers have trained well over 500 puppies and adolescent dogs in our programs. With over 65 years of combined training experience, our four trainers are well versed with a variety of breeds. We tailor all of our programs based on the individual puppy or dog and the family life they will have or have. Milo’s works with all breeds of dogs and train puppies and dogs nationwide.

Milo’s Puppy Boot Camp trainers are located in the Mid Atlantic area (DC/MD/VA/WV). However, we do train puppies for owners from coast to coast.

Trainers work with puppies from breeders nationwide and can help facilitate transport nationwide. In addition to our Trainer On Call program, most of our trainers offer board and train. While the puppy is in training, they live with their trainer in their home and are integrated into their family’s life. They will have exposure to household noises, such as vacuum cleaners, doorbells, dishwasher, etc. The puppy will be further socialized with any other puppies currently in training as well as the trainers’ own pets.

Puppies will work on crate training, potty training, socialization, basic commands, leash training and good manners. The goal is to work on each individual puppy’s strengths and help them work through any weaknesses.

While the puppy is in the care of a trainer, the trainer will continue with veterinary care and insure that it remains up to date on its vaccine schedule. When the time comes for the puppy to go to its forever family, all of the veterinary records will be provided as well as a multi-page personalized letter that spells out the puppy’s schedule, training accomplishments, a detailed account of how to continue his training at home and tips for a smooth transition.

Each trainer follows the same Milo’s Puppy Boot Camp training philosophy. We carefully screen our trainers to insure that your puppy will be cared for and safely and gently trained like our own dogs.
