Snuggle puppy

What is a snuggle puppy? A snuggle puppy is a stuffed puppy that has a velcro opening on the bottom. Inside the opening is a plastic heart with batteries that emits a heartbeat vibration. Most also come with a heatpack, but I do not recommend, as most puppies get hot when they sleep. Save it for those cold days and use as a hand warmer.

The philosophy behind the snuggle puppy is that it mimics cuddling up with a sibling or their momma. If you have ever seen puppies still at the breeder, they are all laying on top of each other or as close to one another as possible. This brings them comfort.

Every puppy I’ve trained treasures their snuggle puppy. They lay on top of it or right next to it in the crate. It gives them a feeling of comfort and of not being alone. Each puppy has their own SP and they only have access to it in their crate. Many owners tell me that even years later, it’s still their “baby”.

Most breeders are now sending home a snuggle puppy with the owners to use because they also know the value of it. It’s a small expense in the grand scheme of things.

So, if you are on the fence, get one. It will be a sleep saver for both you and your puppy!
